Il est vrai que ce petit port a un petit côté breton avec son bassin caché au fond de l'embouchure d'une rivière, son château fort guettant l'entrée des bateaux et ses maisons sombres aux toits d'ardoise. Il est vrai également que Pornic a des airs de Trouville avec ses belles villas perchées, ressemblant à de vrais manoirs aux murs d'hortensias et aux accès privés vers la mer. Nombre d'écrivains et d'artistes sont d'ailleurs venus ici pour y trouver l'inspiration. Ce chemin très agréable longe le chenal qui mène au port laissant sur la droite le petit port de Gourmalon et sur la gauche le château. La mer est omniprésente à Pornic. Elle est même au coeur de la cité grâce à la ria typiquement bretonne, cette vallée envahie par l'Océan à marée montante, le port y a fait son nid en servant de refuge pour les navires en cas de tempête ou de piraterie. Aujourd'hui, la station bat toujours au rythme des flux et des flots.
